“I still love him. This man that I have thought was forever lost to me. If I am completely honest with myself, I never stopped loving him. But, all this knowledge shouldn’t scare me. The teenage love we shared over a decade ago has grown with such a power that it will kill me if I lose it again.”
Holy Guacamole! This book was absolutely fantastic! I loved the story, the characters, EVERYTHING!
Before the book starts the author writes a CAUTION message the reader
on the themes as well as domestic violence. Most authors are criticized
if they don’t post a warning to a trigger for some people who have
experienced that type of abuse. Harper Sloan does not condone domestic
abuse and that the story was about the healing of a survivor.
Axel and Izzy were in love. Izzy is in an abusive marriage and she has never forgotten Axel. 10 years since Axel left for war and Izzy and Axel are thrown into a crazy ride.
I really enjoyed how the author decided to do an Axel POV as well as
Izzy’s it made both sides of the story understandable. I am also a
sucker for a male’s POV, it’s just so hot.
I know there are going to FOUR MORE books in this series and I cannot
wait. I fell in love with the other men too, so I so excited to read
their stories as well.
I recommend this book for those who love alpha males, army-men, and reunited lovers!
