“The sky is always beautiful.Even when it's dark or rainy or cloudy,it's still beautiful to look at....it'll be there no matter what...and I know it'll always be beautiful.”

If you are looking for a next new adult novel to read, I highly recommend reading Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. The book is about a seventeen-year-old girl whose whole life changes because of a boy named Holder, in more ways than one.

Sky Davis was adopted when she was five and lives with her adoptive mother Karen. Her life is pretty normal except for the fact that her mother is anti-technology and she is homeschooled. Sky and her best friend, Six, lead a life of sneaking boys into their rooms and eating ice cream, another activity Karen is against. After convincing Karen that going to public school is necessary, Sky meets Holder. Holder is your typical bad-boy, but there is something off about him.

The relationship between Sky and Holder is like a rollercoaster that goes off into an unexpected direction. This book is probably the best book I have ever read and would give it a 5 star rating. The characters are very likeable as well as the plot. Sky has a relatable personality that is sarcastic and independent. Six is that character who is funny and relieves the tension from all drama that happens in the book. This book was so good it “almost gave me an asthma attack and I don’t even have asthma.” Whatever you think you know is going on in the book, you are wrong. Sky’s past plays a big part in her future with Holder that will shock you.

Hopeless gives fate a whole new meaning.
Colleen Hoover delivers the story with chapters that state the time and date over a three-month period. The evolution of her relationship with Holder is gradually shown through this interesting way of telling a story.
This was one of the book that got me so into reading after I got a Kindle for Christmas 2012. Colleen Hoover is probably my favorite author and this book will forever be my favorite book. It holds a very special place in my heart.
This is most definitely a book with heavy subject matter that is recommended for readers 17 and older. It is emotional and even made me cry, and if you can’t handle it, this book may not be for you, but the writing and storyline are both impeccable. Colleen Hoover is a great writer and this book is just as good, or even better, than her books Slammed and Point of Retreat.
